THE TREK
The trek every walker dreams of, demystified.
Everest Base Camp sits at 5,364 metres. For context, the highest point in the UK, Ben Nevis, is 1,345 metres. This is not a technical climb. There are no ropes or ice axes. It is a long, high-altitude walk through some of the most dramatic scenery on earth, and almost anyone with decent fitness and the right acclimatisation can complete it.
Our Everest Base Camp package handles everything from the moment you land in Kathmandu: domestic flights, permits, teahouse accommodation, an experienced government-licensed guide, and porters. You focus on the walking and the views. We handle the logistics.

FAQ
Everest Base Camp: your questions answered.
Do I need previous trekking experience for Everest Base Camp?
No technical experience is required. The trek involves no climbing, ropes, or ice. You do need decent cardiovascular fitness and the ability to walk 5–8 hours a day for two weeks. We recommend training with long walks on consecutive days for 6–8 weeks beforehand.
How fit do I need to be?
If you can comfortably walk for three hours with a day pack, you can train for this trek. People in their sixties complete it regularly. The biggest factor is not fitness but how your body acclimatises to altitude, which our schedule is designed to support.
How dangerous is altitude sickness on this trek?
Mild altitude symptoms are common and usually pass with rest. Our itinerary builds in two acclimatisation days specifically to reduce risk. Your guide is trained to recognise symptoms early, and the golden rule is simple: never ascend with symptoms. Severe cases require descent, which we manage immediately.
Is a guide mandatory for Everest Base Camp?
Nepal requires a licensed guide for most trekking regions, including the Everest region. Beyond the rule, a good guide is your safety net at altitude, your cultural interpreter, and often the person who spots altitude symptoms before you do. All our guides are government-licensed and English-speaking.
What is the best time of year to trek to Everest Base Camp?
The two main seasons are spring (March to May) and autumn (October to November). October offers the clearest mountain views and is the most popular month. Avoid the monsoon (June to August) and deep winter unless you specifically want those conditions.
What happens if the Lukla flight is cancelled?
Weather cancellations at Lukla are common. This is exactly why we build buffer days into every itinerary. We monitor conditions closely and, where needed, can arrange alternatives. Travel insurance covering delays is strongly recommended.
